The wide quilt pattern of this top looks a lot like shallow waves moving across the beach.  This is a proud classic that virtually glows when you open the case.  It is only lightly played which simply makes it “playable”.  Stuff it in a glass case if you want to but this guitar has excellent action on a wide/thin neck carve and roaring tone.  It should be played and enjoyed.  Like all PRS pre-factory guitars, it will always be worth more than you paid for it, regardless of how much you play it.

There are very few cosmetic imperfections present on this guitar.  Just three small random nicks in the clear coat on top and some very light pick hazing to be seen only when tipped in the light.  The little nicks present are typically just enough to bend a light reflection as well.  They are present in several views of the pictures above but you may not have even noticed them if I didn’t point them out.  The most notable is just behind the bridge.  Check the upper horn area and a little above the back strap button as well.  That’s it.  Overall this guitar is simply gorgeous.  There is no buckle rash on the back, just minor surface swirls when tipped in the light.  In consideration of these small random blemishes I’ll give it a conservative 9.4 rating cosmetically which is outstanding for a 20 year old classic like this.  The guitar is fairly priced as the rare, collectable, pre-factory, ten top, quilt, vintage yellow flame thrower that it is.

There is virtually no fret ware present at all.  It appears that this guitar may barely have been played throughout the past 20 years.  The Indian Rosewood fret board is rich and dark to make a sharp contrast with the white Abalam inlay material that PRS used in 1994.  I like the boards from this era of production because the inlays are so easy to see, even when the stage lighting gets very dim in-between songs.

She weighs in a little under 8.5 pounds as best I can tell on a bathroom scale marked only to the 1/4 pound.  Comes with the original PRS hard case and the original tremolo bar.  The case is in pretty good shape and all of the latches work well.

Please be sure to take a moment and click here to look at my ABOUT page or access it from the top menu bar.  You can click HERE to access my e-Bay feedback profile ( e-Bay seller dm-2 ) directly as well.  I encourage even the smallest of questions so always feel free to e-mail me any time.  Over 140 of my e-Bay feedback ratings are from PRS guitar sales.  The sequential serial numbers of set neck guitars coming out of the factory topped 200,000 last year.  The number on this guitar is barely 20,000, putting it in the top 10% of all PRS set neck guitars ever made.  PRS guitars are an investment.  You’ll ALWAYS have the option to re-sell it for as much or more than you paid.

This guitar is also listed on e-Bay with a starting price of $320 more than I’m asking here at my home page, just to put a dent in the outrageous e-Bay seller fees they would charge me to sell it to you there.  It is also on a rotating consignment schedule in two local music stores but I’m asking more there too, as they take a pretty healthy fee if it sells there for me.  Why pay more than you have to?  Check my feedback and buy it here.  It may be gone soon.  Send me an e-mail and we’ll talk.
