PRS Hollowbody guitars are among the most under-rated instruments on the planet.  I’ve often said:  “If people knew how great the Hollowbody’s are, they would cost $10,000 right off the rack” and these thick body Archtop’s are even a cut above the more common hollowbody model.

The guitar is in as-new condition.  No nicks, chips, scratches, buckle rash, dings, dents or blemishes of any kind.  The gold hardware glows to set off the hand-picked tone-woods it was made from.  Be sure to read the detailed description below this photo-spread.

This one was built by an employee who hand-picked all of the tone wood and walked it through every step of construction.  It comes with a full photo-spread of the guitar in progressive stages of being built.  I’ve also photographed the inside so you can see the thick spruce tone-wood top as well as the way the bridge is supported by a solid block of mahogany joining the front and back of the guitar inside.  The Piezo option on board does a phenomenal job of emulating an acoustic guitar.  Though the thinner and more common Hollowbody model does a pretty good job of presenting as an acoustic guitar, the natural resonance of the thicker body Archtop design increases the acoustic texture of the Piezo tone measurably.  I have and gig both models in Piezo acoustic mode every weekend with my acoustic duo.  I use an Archtop Piezo exclusively, instead of a traditional acoustic guitar with a Hollowbody II Piezo as a back-up.  Great acoustic tone with no finger fatigue all night long.  Check the WoodStone tab on this web site and look at the video’s for an example of how these guitars sound in an acoustic setting.  This particular guitar is actually represented in one of the video’s.

This select spruce top gives it warmth while the Brazilian board and maple back provide clarity.  The board is beautifully figured as seen in the pictures and the maple flame on the back is simply brilliant.  All of these models have exceptional tone and playability.  Six finger chords ring out with perfect balance and note definition from low to high.  The electric aspects of this instrument include specially voiced McCarty Archtop humbucker pick-ups which deliver soulful sustain and zero feedback in the electric mode.  The controls on board allow you to switch from acoustic to electric in an instant, or you can choose to blend the two pick-up systems for a full spectrum of tones unique to no other instrument.

If you’ve bypassed these guitars in the past assuming that they are a plinky jazz box then you’re in for a real treat.  These guitars are screaming, shredding rock and roll tone machines and this one has the entirely alternative identity as an acoustic instrument.  Put it to work in any way you like.  The case is factory original.  It has a few scuffs here and there from doing its job.

Please be sure to take a moment and click here to look at my ABOUT page or access it from the top menu bar.  You can click HERE to access my e-Bay feedback profile ( e-Bay seller dm-2 ) directly as well.  I encourage even the smallest of questions so always feel free to e-mail me any time.  Over 140 of my e-Bay feedback ratings are from PRS guitar sales.  This is a fine instrument which will always be worth the current asking price.  If you’ve come to this page directly through an organic Google search, you can see a list of all the guitars I currently have for sale by clicking HERE or click the PRS Guitars tab in the top menu bar..

This guitar is also listed on e-Bay with a starting price of $350 more than I’m asking here at my home page, just to put a dent in the outrageous e-Bay seller fees they would charge me to sell it to you there.  It is also on a rotating consignment schedule in two local music stores but I’m asking more there too, as they take a pretty healthy cut if they sell it.  Why pay more than you have to?  Check my feedback and buy it here.  It may be gone soon.  Send me an e-mail and we’ll talk.
